What were your parents doing at your age?
At any given age, we often find ourselves wondering: What were our parents doing when they were in our shoes? Were they chasing stability, making sacrifices, or navigating unexpected challenges?
Many of us inherit not just their stories but the values they embodied—resilience, responsibility, and the ability to stay true to oneself. My father, for instance, was focused on securing financial stability, ensuring that our future was secure. My mother, even while battling a heart condition, never let hardship change her warmth or spirit.
Looking back, I realize how much of their resilience has shaped me. Whether it was watching them handle responsibilities or seeing them hold onto their true selves despite challenges, those lessons continue to guide my choices today.
What about you? What lessons have you carried forward from your parents’ journey?
