Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
In 2000, we moved to a new home closer to school and college. The shift wasn’t just about changing locations; it came with its own set of challenges—renovations, adjusting furniture, and updating electrical connections to suit our needs. But amidst all the chaos, something incredible happened: we received our first computer.

It wasn’t a store-bought PC; it was an assembled computer, a thoughtful surprise from my father. That device opened a whole new world for me. I spent hours exploring it, experimenting, and learning. It was this very computer that sparked my curiosity for technology, leading me to enroll in a “Diploma in Computer Applications” course in 2001.
Recently, while catching up with a college friend, she said something that struck a chord: “It was that computer course I did back then that opened the doors to my career in IT.” Hearing her words made me reflect on how impactful that first computer was—not just for me, but for those around me.
Over the years, we upgraded the computer, replaced software, and eventually moved to laptops and iPads. But the passion that device ignited in me remains unchanged. It was the start of a lifelong journey with technology—one I didn’t fully appreciate until my friend reminded me in 2021.
It’s strange how life unfolds. A thoughtful gift from my father not only shaped my own path but also influenced others in ways I never anticipated. Looking back, I realize that my love for computers and software all began with that simple, assembled PC—a gift that changed everything.
