How have your political views changed over time?
When I was a child, I saw politics simply as power. But over time, watching the life of a politician up close changed my perspective. I saw someone move from MLA quarters to an independent home, only to later lose their constituency seat after nearly 20 years — partly because the seat was reallocated as an SC-reserved constituency.
It made me realise that politicians are also ordinary people who chose this as their profession. They build a career, face uncertainty, and live under constant public judgement. Their lives are not always about power — often it is about survival, responsibility, and service.
Today, I don’t see politics only as debate or ideology. I value leaders with vision — those who think long-term, introduce sustainable policies, and create real progress.
For me, politics is now about understanding what society needs today, while building a meaningful pathway for the future.
