You get some great, amazingly fantastic news. What’s the first thing you do?
What’s the first thing you do when you receive fantastic news? As kids, it might have been rushing to our parents, eyes shining with pride. Later, it could be a quiet moment of gratitude, a call to someone special, or even a small celebration.
For me, one such moment was getting my first U.S. visa approved. Stepping out of the embassy, heart pounding, I saw my father and brother waiting. I didn’t need words—my eyes said it all. That moment of pure joy, knowing my passport would soon arrive with the stamp, was overwhelming.
But the celebration didn’t stop there. Without a second thought, I traveled—in a packed general compartment, without a reserved ticket—just to share the news with my aunt. That’s how much it meant to me. And she made it even bigger, taking me to every relative’s house, proudly announcing, “She got her visa!” The happiness in their eyes made the moment even more special.
Looking back, it wasn’t just about the visa—it was about the power of sharing joy. Some moments aren’t meant to be kept to ourselves. They become even more meaningful when celebrated with those who truly care.
What’s a moment you couldn’t wait to share? Who did you tell first?
